We commit ourselves to the nurturing, protection, and safeguarding of all members of our church community, especially children, young people, and adults at risk, by:

  • Affirming that safeguarding is the responsibility of the whole church community.
  • Ensuring careful recruitment, training, supervision, and support for all those, paid or voluntary, who work with children, young people, or adults at risk.
  • Responding promptly to any concerns or allegations of harm, and cooperating fully with statutory authorities, including the police and social care services.
  • Challenging any abuse of power or trust, regardless of role or position.
  • Offering compassionate pastoral care and support to survivors of abuse, shaped to their needs.
  • Providing appropriate pastoral oversight and accountability for those who have offended, including supervision and referral to the proper authorities.
